How do you feel about San Francisco banning happy meal toys from McDonald's?

I think it is a good first step in halting the marketing of crap food to kids. How do you feel about San Francisco banning happy meal toys from McDonald's?
Honestly, I couldn鈥檛 care less. You can often buy the toy for about a buck from McDonalds anyway, and who鈥檚 to stop the kids or parents from throwing what they don鈥檛 want to eat into the trash? What I don鈥檛 get is that our mayor Gavin Newsom, who brought us mandatory composting and no cigarettes for sale in drug stores, plans to veto this plan. It seems like something he would be completely supporting, especially because the board of supervisors most certainly will override his veto. I don鈥檛 get it.
I think its great. They should also think about taking out the trans fat too. Make it healithier =)

And besides? Why do kids need the toy anyways? You can just go to the $1 only store and get the SAME cheap manufactured toy. Its probably cheaper (money wise and health wise) to just buy the toy for the kid. They dont need it included with their meal. How do you feel about San Francisco banning happy meal toys from McDonald's?
Livid.

It is another way for the government to inch closer to taking control of free citizens. It is the parent's right to decide what their kid's eat. Period. There are many other things like candy, ice cream, etc that aren't good for anyone, but what if someone came by, snatched it from your hand and said.. ah ah ah, you can't eat this, it isn't good for you. Who wouldn't be upset? It is a freedom to decide. America.. you know.. the land of the FREE and the home of the brave?
i think it's great!

you know, we have to be protected from ourselves...and you know we don't pay attention to what those kiddies are putting in their mouths.

so when we mess up, we want to sue somebody for our ignorance. mcdonald's is trying to avoid that.
this will not solve the obesity problem

so

they will need further legislation,

perhaps handing out candy on halloween should be a misdemeanor

sometimes i think it would be better if sanfran sank into the ocean
its a good start, How many of these toys are left lying around, they should give out healthy food (perhaps the bag of apples).

I just wish this happens in Australia..
I'm not sure. I don't think that its very fair but then again McDonalds is awful and harmful to the planet so I can see why San Francisco could do that.
A great idea. It might make McDonalds improve the quality of their food.
I think it was a bad idea. Instead they just could had put in fruit and veggies in the happy meal
Angry.
Infuriated, what gives them the right to dictate if we gets free toys or not?!
