Why should toys be banned from happy meals?

i seen on yahoo just now that some county in californa banned toys to sell the food at a mcdonalds. why?Why should toys be banned from happy meals?
I think there are 2 reasons.



1. Parents are too self centered and self absorbed to pay attention to what their children are doing. They shove them in the car seat with a happy meal and toy - the child puts the toy in their mouth and chokes. Parent blames McDonald's.



2. We live n a litigious society so that the above mentioned parents do not need to accept responsibility for not watching their children and keep them from choking. They then sue McDonald's.

It has to do with the power of suggestion in a young child's mind. If they offer a toy the child wants, that child will nag at their parents until they take them to the McD's. A parent would tend to rationalize that they are killing two birds with one stone; 1st, the child get the toy it's nagging about, 2nd, the parent fulfill the child's need for food. A child can and will be persistent it it's pursuit to acquire what it wants especially if it's attached to something a parent feels is good for the child. Tricky little manipulators they truly are. The county is Santa Clara. The reasoning offered is to prevent children from being enticed to eat unhealthy fast food just to get a toy. The ban is not just McDonalds, but all fast food meals labled as unhealthy due to fats and calories.
