Are any of McDonalds happy meal toys colletibles?

I have Happy Meal toys from the early 80's and possibly earlier. I would like to know if any of them are of any value. Partial List: Hello Kitty,Armpit Waffle Toy, Mario Power Tennis, Pirates of the Caribbean,Witch Book Series, Wilt with Stencil Stick, Black Power Ranger. and some Disney figures...and more. 33 are still in their wrappers. 21 are not.

Yes. Especially the earlier ones. The Happy Meal was introduced in 1979 so if yours are early 80s they're quite possibly going to be some of the more sought after toys. Because it wasn't until the early 90s that everybody and his brother started collecting everything from comic books to Beenie Babies as an investment, so of course yours are the rare ones. I'd definitely suggest that you sit down in front of the computer (oh wait you are) and research them big time before you try to sell them. You don't want to sell a toy for $20 only to find out you could have easily got $100. I'm not saying that any of them would go for that much but you never know, at least not until you do some research.

Some of them are supposedly valuable, but, like another person said, you must be able to find someone to buy them at that price. You can research your specific toys by searching on ebay for similar items or by using a book. (If you search for "McDonalds collectibles book" on amazon, you will come up with a number of options.)
I am sure they could be worth something. Wait a little longer before you sell them. Sell them when they are older. The black power ranger sounds worth something. The Disney characters sound like valuable collectibles, too. I did a little research, and cars, barbies, and Disney characters seem to be collected.

Advice: The older it is; the more it is worth.

If the hello Kitty toys are overseas version they may worth something.
Some of the McDonalds toys have value but you have to find someone will to pay the price.

Monkey ninja is from Kim Possible

Malificent whom is wearing black and purple and has horns, is from the fairy tale sleeping beauty.

I don't know who is that next to maleficent though. The last action figure is from Mulan.

Any one work for McDonalds or Burger King?? What happens to leftover happy meal toys when it's time to switch?

I was wondering what happens to all the Sponge Bob happy meal toys that Burger King just switched to Spider Man. They couldn't possibly have gotten rid of ALL the Sponge Bob toys in that short of a time period. So where do they go? I want them! lol!

they get rid of them you need to know somebody who works there you can get them for free email me you pay the shipping i can get them
We usually keep them in our storage area of the restaurant. If we run out of a toy the next time, we go back to the previous toy and hand those out until we can get another shipment. After awhile the old toys either get shipped back to where they came from or they are handed out at birthday parties. Sometimes a toy such as the beanie baby toys will re-circulate and will be brought back to happymeals.Any one work for McDonalds or Burger King?? When I used to work there they would get rid of them like give them to the employees or go to their website and you can order some!
I guess it depends on the chain. I used to work for McD's and we had a guy who would collect the left over Happy Meal Toys every few weeks and donate them to various children in distress shelters and hospitals. Of course, he got permission from Coporate to take them *and we know he did donate them because he was in the local paper every now and then* It's nice to see the toys maybe made someone smile a bit :)
They use them for birthday parties. Also, it's nice to have extra stuff on hand if someone doesn't like the current toy, or if a child is too young for one toy, something can be substituted.



Yes, some toys run out very quickly before the promotion is supposed to be over. It does happen sometimes for very popular toys.
This was my question, you stole it. Idk maybe it was yours, but even at that it is still half mine.
I work at BK and we use them when we run out of the promotion toys or if someone wants them instead...

You should probably take the toy to a antique shop. They will probably be able to tell you what the toy is worth.
