Why blame McDonalds for giving away kids toys?

Almost every fast food restaurant nowadays have kids toys! They're just cute. I never went to McDonald's for the toys even as a kid...i went because it tastes good! Why blame McDonalds for giving away kids toys?
I agree, so what if McDonald is giving away toys, a lot of other fast food places do that too. Also in the end toy or no toy it is the parents who take their kids to McDonald and orders the food. Now in my opinion there is nothing wrong with eating fast food every once in a while but it shouldn't be an everyday thing. It's common sense to know that fast food isn't good for you and that if you eat that stuff (especially three times a day) you're going to gain weight. Just like in the move Super Size Me. Basically the toy is just an extra treat so to speak, something the kids can play with while they are eating or after they are done eating. Besides they already offer healthier foods too so you get to choose. Either way the toy isn't to blame.
They wanted the toys gone because the theory behind it is that it encourages kids to eat unhealthy fast food. Let's face it, just because it tastes good doesn't mean it's healthy. The word "healthy" and "fast food" do not belong in the same sentence regardless if it's a McDonalds or somewhere else. That aside, the whole issue is stupid because people who patronize those places are still going to eat the junk from those places toys or not and will still feed it to their kids. The concern is over the rise in obesity with kids and adults in the country and the unhealthy foods that are processed and marketed towards kids especially. We rarely as a family will eat fast food. I emphasize RARELY meaning it usually happens on vacation trips while on the road but even then we try to scope out healthy as possible options when we have to.

The smarter thing to do would be to get fast food places to start cutting out the fat, salt and sugar in their food offerings and offer more healthy options on their menu to balance it out instead of all the fried, salt laden junk that dominates many of the fast food menus out there. It also means in a case like this using some common sense in that banning a stupid junk toy from a kids meal isn't going to stop people from going there and it isn't going to stop other food chains from offering their trinkets to kids or people from eating unhealthy if they are set on doing so. The toy has nothing to do with the fat rear ends and cholesterol issues that are developed by people who continually eat that junk. It's more a case of lack of self control and will power than anything else. Why blame McDonalds for giving away kids toys?
Most parents don't take their children to mcdonald's because of the toy, they take the kid because it's near the grocery store, it's inside walmart, it's at the mall, wherever it is the parent needs to go shopping. You are in the middle of doing your errands, it's noon, your kid is crying because he's hungry, and your house is 20+ minutes away, can you justify wasting gas, listening to a kid cry for 20 minutes, just to go home and fix a sandwich then drive another 20 minutes back to finish your errands?

It's also uses a bribe to behave. Besides, if they take the toys out of the happy meal, what is going to keep the kid from wanting an adult meal, which is a better deal? That kid does not need more than 500 calories( aprox. the amount in a happy meal) Those adult meals have 700+ calories. A child does not need that, so let them have the darn toy so they will eat the appropriate size meal.
because that is what liberals do. It is impossible for them to face reality. The attacks on McDonalds have nothing to do with the "toys" but rather their personal distain for McDonalds (in this case) which they would love any excuse in the world to try and force out.
I have to agree that it is because the parents don't want to take the blame for their child being chubby. I however, DON'T even get my kids toys when I take them to McD's...do people seriously think that taking away the toy will stop people from buying their kids food from there?!
I know right?! If you've got a stick that far up your a**, don't take your kid to McDonalds... or don't get them a happy meal... it's not like the toys are meant to last long or anything. It's to keep them entertained for a short period of time. I think it's a very nice gesture.
Parents will try to place the blame anywhere to cover up their bad parenting. They say, "my kid is fat because McDonald's has toys in their happy meals". No one forced them to take their kids to mcd's in the first place!!
McDonalds isn't the parent. They sell food.Don't blame them. They didn't come to you at your home.

There is nothing wrong with their food,in moderation. If you're going to consume mass quantities like coneheads from France,it's on you.
I agree they should not blame McDonald's because their kid is morbidly obese put the f'ing kid on a diet and they might not b morbidly obese and don't take them to f'ing McDonald's every f'ing day and help them those lousy ******* parents
people are doing that now? I guess some people just want to complain about something, I just wish the toys where as good now as they where when I was a kid!
Tempt them while there young, get them "enjoying it" and most likely they will have a customer for life
I don't know :D
