Why do Grandpa's give the worst gifts that they found that day possibly even for free?

Like when I was little I used to get like McDonalds toys from grandpa and sometimes he would give me freebie gifts like extra candy that he just got the grocery store

well...remember that they may have limited finances, and at their age they cannot go run out and get a job to earn enough to buy you the gift you think you deserve.
Maybe if you spent more time with your Grandad, and talked to him about your hobbies and intrests and found out about his?

He won't be around forever so make memories while you can, they last longer than presents.
I think its really sweet and best and funniest part about having a grandpa, they think they are doing great doing this... sweet bless them.
